About
I am Dr. Praveen Kumar — child and adolescent psychiatrist (NHS Scotland), 2026 Donald J. Cohen Fellow in International Scholarship (IACAPAP), 2025–2026 Sustainability Scholar on the Royal College of Physicians' Planetary Health and Sustainability Committee, and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen. I hold MRCPsych, FEBP, and DTMH, and am reading for an MSc in Health Policy at Imperial College London.
My published and applied work covers three areas: child and adolescent mental-health services and planetary health; how clinical evidence is applied in day-to-day NHS CAMHS practice; and community-based alternatives in CNS and neurodevelopmental care. It includes a peer-reviewed systematic review and meta-analysis in CNS pharmacotherapy, over twenty published audit and quality-improvement abstracts in the supplementary volumes of BJPsych Open (RCPsych Congress and Faculty Conference proceedings), and ongoing policy engagement through the RCP Sustainability Scholarship and the IACAPAP Donald J. Cohen Fellowship.
My clinical base is NHS Grampian, and my academic base is Imperial College London and the University of Aberdeen.
